SLEEP RELATED DESEASES:
Parkinson is shown to be an illness that affects sleep drastically in individuals with Parkinson. Some common sleep disorders individuals with Parkinson’s may have are insomnia, rest less leg syndrome disturbing sleep quality, disturbance in REM sleep or deep sleep, intense and vivid dreams and sleepapnea. Researchers believe that some of the major cause of being unable to sllep for a individual is chemical changes in the brain which prevent you from sleeping. Being unable to sleep can also be connected to depression. Sleep disorders can hinder a persons life drastically and the person may feel unable to do his/her daily tasks.
MEANINGS OF SLEEP DISORDERS:
INSOMNIA; induviduals with insomnia have difficullty staying asleep falling to sleep and also have restless sleep
DAY TIME SLEEPINES; (EDS)is something that affects induviduals to stay awake during the day and they feel drowsy during the day time
RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME; is something that affects induvidauals to fall asleep during the day and even if they do fall asleep it prevents them from having sound sleep and makes them move around in their sleep constantly
REM SLEEP DISTURBANCE AND VIVID DREAMING; people that have a lot of vivid dreams and may experience disturbance in their rem sleep and have difficulty falling into deep sleep
SLEEP APNEA; sleep apnea is something that accurs when individuals have difficulty breathing when they are asleep.Their breathing starts and stops periodically when they fall asleep they may also have excessive snoring
PHYCOLOGICAL SYMPTOMS; people who have different psychological illnesses such as anxiety and depression may have difficulty falling asleep
Steps to follow to help sleep better
CREATING A SLEEP SCHEDULE; the first step is to create a sleep schedule choose a time for when your going to sleep and wake up eg waking up at 8 am and then falling a sleep by 9 pm
LIMITING CAFFINE INTAKE; people who drink coffee near their bed time experience difficulty falling a sleep so it is very inforced that you don’t drink coffee before going to sleep because it prevents you from falling a sleep
GET SOME EXERCISE; it is shown that exercise helps with psychological and physical symptoms and getting tired befour you go to sleep also helps you sleep better it is recommended that you don’t exercise right before going to bed and ecercise in the day time because it alerts your brain
LIMITING BLUE LIGHT; simple thing like putting down your devices 1 hour before going to bed helps you sleep better
USING A DEVICE FOR ETRA WHITE NOISE; using a device such as white noise maker or a fan helps you from getting distracted and makes you fall a sleep better
ELIMINATING LIGHT FROM ENTERING THE ROOM; using curtains or a blindfold eliminates the light and ultimately helps you fall a sleep better
ELEMENTAING SOUND; having a nise and quite room also helps you fall a sleep better
CLEARING YOUR MIND; Practices such as yoga or meditation before bedtime can help relax your mind and body and help destress from the day.
CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR; Talk with your doctor about symptoms you have been having to allow them to assist you better.
